Drag object names from Object Explorer into query window in SQL Server Management Studio

To save you typing it’s possible to drag the names of objects such as Tables, Views etc. from the SQL Server Object Explorer into a query window. Simply click and drag.

By default objects names with have the schema prepended to them as well as being surrounded by brackets. You can change settings for these if you wish from the SSMS Options as shown below…
